What is TMQ?

TMQ (polymerized 2,2,4-trimethyl-1,2-dihydroquinoline) is one of the most widely used antioxidants in the rubber industry. It is a polymeric aromatic amine antioxidant designed to protect rubber compounds from thermal oxidation, heat aging, and flex cracking during both processing and service life. TMQ is especially valued in tire manufacturing, where rubber materials are exposed to elevated temperatures and oxidative environments. Because of its efficiency, TMQ helps maintain elasticity, mechanical strength, and durability in rubber products, making it a key additive in modern rubber formulation.
